From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the group enter places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to form the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can expect learning which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
